Privacy Policy
Scent Wardrobe for iOS & Android (com.axiona.maisonscent)
In short
Scent Wardrobe is a local-first app. Everything you store in it lives exclusively on your device — there is no account, no cloud sync, no advertising, and no tracking. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with your data.
1. Who we are
Axiona e.U.
General-Keyes-Straße 9, 5020 Salzburg, Austria
E-Mail: kontakt@axiona.at
Axiona e.U. is the controller responsible for the Scent Wardrobe app (iOS and Android, bundle id com.axiona.maisonscent) within the meaning of the GDPR.
2. What data is processed — and where
The app works without registration, login, or any user account. All personal data is stored exclusively on your device in a local database (SQLite, "user.db"):
- Your wardrobe and shelf entries
- Your wear history, including optional personal notes
- Saved fragrance comparisons
- Your taste and onboarding preferences
- Your theme/appearance setting
- A last-seen timestamp
This data never leaves your device. There is no cloud sync, no backend user database, and no server-side profile. Where the GDPR applies to this local processing, it is carried out to provide the app's functionality (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
The app does not access your camera, photos, location, contacts, microphone, or push notifications.
3. Anonymous usage statistics
The app includes an optional "anonymous usage statistics" toggle (Profile → Your data), which is on by default. When enabled, the app may record only event names from a fixed allow-list (e.g. "search_submitted", "wardrobe_item_added") and query timings. It never records search text, wardrobe contents, notes, or any identifier that could identify you.
No crash reporting or analytics SDK is currently active in the app. There is no advertising, no ad networks, and no cross-app tracking.
You can disable anonymous usage statistics at any time under Profile → Your data.
4. Network requests and server logs
The fragrance catalog is bundled with the app (read-only). Fragrance data and product imagery come from the "ledecanteur" dataset (community vote aggregates, see in-app attribution). This is reference data, not user data.
Catalog updates
The app may optionally check for and download an updated catalog over HTTPS only, from our own update host. This is a standard HTTPS request; the hosting provider may process your IP address and user-agent in server logs (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in secure, reliable delivery). No personal or app data is transmitted.
App updates
Over-the-air app updates are delivered via Expo Application Services (EAS). Expo may process device and IP data in accordance with its own privacy policy (expo.dev/privacy).
5. Data retention
Your data remains on your device until you delete it — either via the "Delete my data" option in the app or by uninstalling the app. Because no copy is stored on our servers, there is nothing further for us to retain or erase.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell, share, or disclose your personal data to third parties. The only external parties that technically process limited connection data are the processors named above: our catalog update hosting provider (server logs) and Expo (EAS update delivery).
7. Your rights under the GDPR
Because your data is stored on your device and under your control, the app itself fulfills most GDPR rights directly:
- Access & portability: export all your data (shelves, wear log, preferences) as a JSON file via the in-app export — and import it back at any time.
- Erasure: "Delete my data" removes all locally stored user data; uninstalling the app does the same.
- Rectification: you can edit your entries, notes, and preferences directly in the app.
You may also contact us at any time to exercise your rights (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection) by e-mail.
If you believe the processing of your data violates data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority — in Austria: Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, dsb@dsb.gv.at.
8. Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where the GDPR applies). Since the app has no accounts and collects no personal data on our servers, we do not knowingly process children's data.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time, for example when the app's functionality changes. The current version is always published on this page.
