2. Principle: local-first

ParkKlar works on your device. Location, parked position, timer, favorites and history are stored locally on your iPhone only and never leave it. There is no account, no analytics or tracking, no ads and no cookies.

3. What data is processed where

Location (on-device only). Your location is used locally to check the parking rule at your position, center the map and save the parked spot. It is not transmitted to us or third parties.

Parking data (on-device only). Parked position, session timer, reminder lead time, favorites, history (max. 10 entries) and your settings (language, reminder lead, preferred payment provider) live in the app's local storage. Deleting the app removes them entirely; history and favorites can also be deleted individually in-app.

Local notifications (on-device only). Expiry reminders are scheduled as local notifications on the device. There is no remote push.

Destination search (transmitted to Google or Apple). When you type a place in search, the typed query text is sent for autocomplete and resolution — to Google Places API (Google LLC, USA) or, if Google is not configured, to Apple's map services (MapKit/geocoder). No device location is transmitted; the regional bias is a fixed Salzburg circle. Google processes the request under the Google Privacy Policy, Apple under the Apple Privacy Policy.

Map tiles (Apple).The map uses Apple Maps (MapKit). Loading map tiles and handing a route off to Apple Maps are governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Parking data refresh (City of Salzburg). The app fetches facility and occupancy data directly from the City of Salzburg's open geo data endpoints (data.stadt-salzburg.at). The request carries no personal data beyond the technically inevitable IP address.

Issue report by email (voluntary). "Report a problem" opens a prefilled email to kontakt@axiona.at containing the coordinate, the affected data source and the data version. We use it solely to fix the data and delete it after processing.

External handoffs. Links to payment providers (e.g. EasyPark, HANDYPARKEN), operator tariff pages and Apple Maps open their services; their own privacy policies apply there. We transmit no data during the handoff.

4. Legal bases

Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (providing the app's features) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in correct data and technical operation).

5. Recipients and third-country transfer

Only as described above: Google LLC (USA — EU-US Data Privacy Framework), Apple Inc. (USA — DPF) and the City of Salzburg for the plain data fetch. No other disclosure, no sale, no profiling.

6. Retention

Local data: until you delete it (history/favorites) or uninstall the app. Support emails: until processed, at most 12 months.

7. Your rights

Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). Since almost all data lives locally on your device, you can exercise most of these rights in the app or by uninstalling it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (dsb.gv.at).
